Update on Post Office Campaign

Great News – Post Offices in Our Community Will Stay Open

I am excited to share that our campaign to save local post offices has been successful! Thanks to the overwhelming support from over 1,800 of you who signed my petition, the Post Office has announced that rather than closing, the Directly Managed Branches (DMBs) across the Cities of London and Westminster will be franchised. This means these vital services will continue to operate, either in the same location or nearby, ensuring that residents will still have access to essential services like banking, cash, and government transactions.

This victory comes after months of hard work and collaboration with community members, and concerned residents. Post offices are crucial for so many, especially for those who do not rely on online banking, the elderly, and those with disabilities. They are a vital part of our community, and I am pleased to see the Post Office take steps to secure their future.

While this is welcomed news, the work is far from over. We still need to ensure that the new franchised branches provide the same high standards of service, are accessible and remain a vital part of our community. I will continue to work closely with the Post Office to ensure these branches are franchised in a way that benefits all of us. While there is still more work to do, this is a big win for our community!

Thank you once again for your support.
