Leasehold and Commonhold Bill Survey

Share Your Thoughts
I am proud that this Labour Government is ending leasehold with the introduction of the Leasehold and Commonhold Reform Bill.
This legislation marks the beginning of the end of leasehold, with:
-
A ban on new leasehold flats
-
A reinvigorated commonhold with a new mechanism to convert.
-
A cap on ground rents of £250, moving to a peppercorn after 40 years.
I want to represent the interests of my constituents in the Cities of London and Westminster as this Bill progresses through Parliament, and so want to hear from them about their willingness to convert to commonhold, any barriers that might exist, and how the antiquated leasehold system is impacting their cost of living.
I also hold a regular Leasehold Action Group to inform my priorities on this crucial part of the Government’s legislative agenda. Please be in touch with me at rachel.blake.mp@parliamanet.uk if you would like to attend this.
